Ronald McDonald created Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake in Northern California, and currently the Gallatin House serves as a summer camp headquarters for chronically ill children. After an overabundance of exposure to extreme moisture from snow and rain, the Gallatin House’s 20-year-old roof system urgently needed to be replaced. HistoriCorps was selected to supervise and execute the roof system replacement, using cedar shingles to maintain historical accuracy. With the new roof system, Gallatin House will continue to serve as a safe headquarters for the children at Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake. See article online here, and PDF version here.
