Nov. 10, 2017 Kickstarter Update:

Hello Saving Places® Backers!

It’s been a rollicking few months. HistoriCorps and Story Arts Media have been involved in intense negotiations with industry insiders about bringing SAVING PLACES® to television in a way that best represents the spirit and mission of HistoriCorps and our volunteers. We were courted by a production company doing commercial television shows, and, after a very open, heart-to-heart talk, agreed that the reality-based genre was not who we and our volunteers and friends are. We walked away from that more jazzed than ever because the principals were so gracious as to offer to help any way they can. This was truly validating.

As you are probably seeing by now, this television business is incredibly fluid, and what we tell you today could be supplanted by a phone call or new connection tomorrow. Through one of our wonderful partners in Wyoming, Joe Daniel (Story Arts Media) has been connected to folks at WY Public Television. They love what they see and want to help and possibly partner with us. We have drafted a post-production schedule to have a documentary using our 2016 footage ready for viewing in the first quarter of 2018. This will position us for several broadcast possibilities, from the many stations nationwide who are part of the PBS network to film festivals across the country. This would be a wonderful outcome to our Kickstarter Campaign, for which we are humbly grateful to you, our backers.

Through these channels the 2016-based documentary can also become a pilot or premiere episode for a documentary series going forward. Because of the fluidity described above, we will send you more frequent updates to give you an inside look at the machinations involved in bringing the heart and soul of HistoriCorps to a national audience.

We gratefully acknowledge Colorado Preservation, Inc., one of our founders, for permission to use the wonderfully apt title, SAVING PLACES®
