HistoriCorps engages volunteers in historic preservation for public benefit.  The message that sends is exciting, positive and empowering. HistoriCorps has completed projects across the United States, working in fantastic locations from remote fire lookout towers to humble one-room schoolhouses. The concept of HistoriCorps was created by USFS employees Terri Liestman and Doug Stephens. Since HistoriCorps’ founding in 2009, more than 80 historic structures have been preserved on Forest Service properties.

Colorado Preservation Inc. (CPI)

HistoriCorps began as a program run by Colorado Preservation Inc. As we grew into our own 501(c)(3) nonprofit, CPI provided important guidance and support.

Denver Parks and Recreation
